Upon completing her DVM program in 2018, Dr. Skirmont moved to New Jersey for a one-year rotating internship at Mid-Atlantic Equine Medical Center, where she focused on sports medicine and diagnostic imaging and discovered her passion for treating the equine athlete.

Her pursuits brought her to South Florida in 2019 where Dr. Skirmont practiced in Wellington, Florida with a focus on equine sport medicine and lameness.

Dr. Skirmont expanded her expertise by becoming certified in Veterinary Spinal Manipulative Therapy and Equine Acupuncture, enhancing her comprehensive, whole-horse approach to diagnosing and treating lameness.

When she's not caring for horses, Dr. Skirmont enjoys spending time with her husband and two sons.
